We are Cheryl and Ben Coles from Ontario, Canada. We've been married for over 30 years and have been camping together for over 35 years. In 2019, we started creating camping and RV related videos on YouTube. Each season we review the parks where we camp, most of which are Ontario Provincial Parks but sometimes we try out national parks and conservation areas as well. Along with park reviews, we do RV and camping gear reviews and DIY modifications.
Neither of them come from camping families.
Ben started his camping journey when he became a camp counsellor at a summer camp near Orangeville, Ontario. For three summers, as a teenager, he learned and eventually taught camping and canoeing skills to kids. He then started his career as a police officer.
Cheryl met Ben in 1986 and they started camping together. At that time, their camping was mostly back country canoe trips. Cheryl then worked at the same summer camp (Ben no longer worked there), while going to school to become a nurse. She was the camp nurse for a couple of summers before starting her career as a Registered Nurse.
They married and started a family, instilling their love of camping on their three kids. As a family, they went back country camping and over time shifted more to front country camping.
At the same time Ben volunteered as a supervisor on high school back country canoe and hiking trips. His friend and fellow former camp counsellor was a teacher who organized these trips. For over a decade, Ben volunteered on these trips every spring and fall.
In 2010 Cheryl and Ben bought their first travel trailer. It was a used 2004 Starcraft Travel Star 19CK. From that moment on, they were hooked on RV camping. They started from square one learning how to camp with an RV.
In 2017 Ben retired from policing with 30 years of service. Cheryl continues to work part time as an RN. They bought a brand new 2017 Coachmen Freedom Express 254 DSX and the frequency of camping trips increased as they travelled within both Canada and the USA.
In 2019 they started creating videos for YouTube with a main focus on reviewing Provincial Parks. 2019 was season one of their park reviews and each year since has been a new season of park reviews.
They love making these videos for you and hope that they can instill their love of camping and RV life on their viewers. Their goal is to help you find your next great camping adventure!
